Transportation Security Officer Job Overview

Thank you for your interest in employment with TSA. As a Transportation Security Officer (TSO), you will play a vital role in supporting the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) mission. This position requires a commitment to operational excellence and the ability to adapt to dynamic situations.

Local Airport Details

• Airport: Imperial County Airport (IPL)
• Location: Imperial, CA
• Flight Schedule: Seven days per week with limited service to Los Angeles International Airport.
• Distance to Central Business District: 1 mile south of Imperial and 3 miles north of El Centro.

Work Schedules

• TSO work schedules are based on the operational needs of the airport and may include non-traditional shifts, weekends, and holidays.
• Flexibility is limited; specific shifts are assigned after training and are subject to periodic adjustments.
• Employees are expected to report for duty during inclement weather, regardless of travel restrictions.

Current Opportunity

• Position Type: Part-Time
• Hours: 20 hours per week with split-shifts and two consecutive days off.

Compensation and Benefits

• Sign-On Bonus: Currently not offered.

Travel and Training Requirements

Employment is contingent upon successfully completing classroom and on-the-job training, which may require travel away from the employee's assigned airport.
