Transportation Security Officer (TSO) Job Overview

Thank you for considering a career with the Transportation Security Administration (TSA). As a Transportation Security Officer, you will play a vital role in supporting the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) mission. This position requires dedication and offers unique operational requirements and compensation.

Local Airport Details

• Location: Erie International Airport, Millcreek Township, PA
• Flight Schedule: Maintains a 24-hour operation, seven days a week.
• Peak Times: Monday through Sunday, 4 a.m. – 7 p.m.
• Screening Operations: Conducted inside the terminal, which may or may not be temperature controlled.

Work Schedules

• Shifts: Non-traditional shifts, including weekends and holidays.
• Flexibility: Limited flexibility due to the nature of the job. Specific shifts will be assigned post-training and may change based on operational needs.
• Emergency Personnel: TSA employees must report for duty during inclement weather.

Employment Details

• Positions Available: Part-time positions (20-32 hours/week).
• Shift Structure: Four days a week, five-hour shifts during morning and afternoon based on airport operational needs.

Sign-On Bonus

Currently, no sign-on bonus is being offered for this location.

Commuter Details

• Parking: Onsite parking provided at no charge.
• Public Transportation: Not available; no transportation subsidies offered.
