Transportation Security Officer (TSO) Job Overview

As a Transportation Security Officer, you will play a vital role in supporting the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) mission. This position requires dedication and offers unique operational requirements and compensation.
Local Airport Details
- Location: Erie International Airport, Millcreek Township, PA
- Flight Schedule: Maintains a 24-hour operation, seven days a week.
- Peak Times: Monday through Sunday, 4 a.m. – 7 p.m.
- Screening Operations: Conducted inside the terminal, which may or may not be temperature controlled.
Work Schedules
- Shifts: Non-traditional shifts, including weekends and holidays.
- Flexibility: Limited flexibility due to the nature of the job. Specific shifts will be assigned post-training and may change based on operational needs.
- Emergency Personnel: TSA employees must report for duty during inclement weather.
Employment Details
- Positions Available: Part-time positions (20-32 hours/week).
- Shift Structure: Four days a week, five-hour shifts during morning and afternoon based on airport operational needs.
