Transportation Security Officer Job Overview

Thank you for your interest in employment with the Transportation Security Administration (TSA). If you successfully complete the Transportation Security Officer (TSO) candidate evaluation process and are selected for a position, you will play a vital role in supporting the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) mission.

Local Airport Details

• Location: Cheyenne Regional Airport, Cheyenne, WY
• Operations: 5:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m., seven days a week
• Screening Operations: Located inside the terminal, may not be temperature controlled.

Work Schedules

• Shifts based on operational needs, may include weekends and holidays.
• No flexibility offered for personal commitments.
• Assignments after successful training and periodic adjustments.

CYS is currently assessing candidates for part-time positions:

• Hours: 16-32 hours per week
• Typical Work Day: Start at 5 a.m., finishing in late afternoon/early evening.
• May require hold-over for screening delayed flights.

Sign-On Bonus

The TSA is currently offering a sign-on bonus of up to $5,000 for this duty location, paid out in two installments during the first 12 months of service. (Recruitment Incentive amount is subject to change.)

Commuter Details

• Parking: Free onsite parking for TSA employees.
• Transportation: Public transportation to the airport is unavailable. No transportation subsidies at CYS.
