Avionics Technicians generally work on the communication, navigation, and surveillance systems, as well as the electrical generating components that power these systems. They install, inspect, test, and repair the avionics equipment and electronics, including communication and navigation radios, transponder, and DME systems, weather radar equipment, autopilot systems, and troubleshoot and diagnose these systems to LRU or component level. Installing and testing complex avionics equipment and electrical systems on aircraft. Ensuring that all avionics equipment works properly before take-off and that it does not interfere with any other electronic device. Repairing or replacing any defective avionics equipment before the aircraft's next flight. Interpreting blueprints and schematics to troubleshoot aircraft systems properly. Performing intricate and highly reliable soldering on failed electrical components. Providing accurate diagnoses of complex avionics problems. Organizing ground support and test equipment for ground tests. Analyzing flight test data to diagnose malfunctions and study the operations of the electrical or avionics components. Keep a constant watch for safety and ensure work performed adheres to the highest quality standards. Ensure proper and adequate equipment is used, acceptable parts or components are installed, and approved hardware or supplies are used. Core Schedule: Days: Monday thru Friday.
