What you should expect as a Welding Technician at West Star: This position is hourly, non-exempt that requires a basic knowledge of welding metal objects together to fabricate metal shapes or articles or to repair broken or cracked metal objects. Position will be building/repairing ground support equipment to help facilitate the maintenance and repair of aircraft. Job duties will vary each day and are designated by the Lead, Welding Technician. Requirements: You will be ESSENTIAL to many FUNCTIONS including: . Setup pre-fitted parts for welding, uses hand tools, clamps, jigs, and fixtures . Work from specifications, drawings, prints, or welding symbols . May perform layout work and cut metal with cutting torch and/or plasma cutter, band saw. What you'll need to bring with you: Your Education: Education High school diploma or equivalent. Vocational Schooling preferred Your Experience: 3 or more years of welding experience Your Initiative: We are looking for quality oriented team members who are self-motivated and able to work in a fast paced environment with minimal supervision.
