Reads, performs and complies with instructions and safety information as necessary for proper and safe completion of assigned work. Essential Duties 1. Reads instructions and all cautions/warnings/notes information as necessary for proper and safe completion of assigned work. 2. Prepares and maintains simple records such as work order documentation, logs, and time and material records, as instructed. 3. Cleans aircraft fuel tank structure (exterior and interior) and components thoroughly, undergoing inspection according to company policy and his/her supervisor’s instructions. 4. Ensure aircraft is properly grounded prior to cleaning operations, as required. 5. Removes and installs fasteners on fuel access plates on the aircraft when directed. 6. Prepare surface (e.g., masking, drying, vacuuming) for paint. 7. Assist in pressure testing. 8. Obtain necessary sealant, solvent, cleaners, and wipers from hazardous material crib or shop storage area. Set-up ventilation equipment, as required, to supply fresh air in work areas. 9. Assist other fuel technicians with repetitive ‘in process’ sealing on open and accessible wing integral fuel tank items and other assemblies (e.g., floors, ribs, spars, wing panels). 10. Assist other fuel technicians with sealing and/or topcoat per specifications including fillet seal to system components, bushings, fittings that penetrate fuel cells, and tubing ground straps, sealing heads and collars of fasteners. 11. Operate mechanical lifts of various types (e.g., scissors lifts, elevated work platforms). 12. Handle and dispose of hazardous materials in an approved manner (e.g., solvents, thinners, and primers). Secondary Duties: 1. Perform other duties and special projects as assigned. What you need: (Requirements) Minimum 1. High school graduate or equivalent required. 2. Eighteen (18) months fueling experience, preferably in an aviation environment, or demonstrated ability within HAECO. 3. Must be able to read, write, and understand the English language. 4. Must provide own tools are required on company tool list. 5. Must be able to obtain a skill rating of 1. Physical Requirements 1. Must be able to lift 50 lbs. 2. Must be able to wear and breathe through a full-face respirator. 3. May be exposed to hazardous chemicals and requires the use of all safety equipment. 4. Must be able to bend, stoop, kneel and stand for prolonged periods of time, climb ladders and walk/work on elevated platforms. 5. Visual Acuity must be at least 20/40 corrected and employee must be able to distinguish color. 6. Normal or corrected hearing. 7. *As a Crew Chief, here is what you’ll be doing at the core, day to day.* * In conjunction with Supervisor, oversee and/or perform daily activities for an assigned functional area of MHIRJ Aviation. * Leading a team of aircraft maintenance technicians including certificated and/or non-certificated technicians * Coordinate workload requirements with Supervisors. * Plans, directs, layouts and coordinates the activities of the assigned Maintenance Department to minimize delays and increase production and efficiency. * The Crew Chief is a working member of the maintenance group and is directly responsible to the Maintenance Supervisor. * Maintains the work areas, building, ground support equipment and materials that are utilized for aircraft maintenance in safe, clean, and operable condition. * Conduct Team Meetings with Supervisor * Oversee employee activities and document as required. * Communicate aircraft discrepancies with Supervisors, customer representatives, and employees. * Provide technical guidance/expertise in functional area up to and including using complex manuals and blueprints. * Mentor, train, and provide performance feedback. * Provide input on disciplinary actions, performance management programs and selection process. * Comply with environmental health and safety policies/procedures. * Participate in 5-S activities. * Provide in-put on accident investigation and associated paperwork. * Monitor/ensure accurate data collection on employees in assigned work area. * Monitor routine task cards and N/R budgets. * Estimate man-hours and prepare time estimates. * Complete/approve all paperwork prior to turnover to QC/QA for final release. * Working outside may be required at times. * May be required to work on the aircraft to support the business needs. * Performs other duties as necessary to support the efficient operation of the department and company. *Here’s what is required to succeed as a Crew Chief.* * Minimum of two (2) years practical aircraft maintenance experience * Possess an FAA A&P license OR possess the “A” license. * Thorough knowledge in functional area as evidenced through previous experience and skill. * Good organizational and communication skills * Plan and organize tasks; prioritize, assign, and coordinate work. * Advanced knowledge of inspection/ maintenance procedures in functional area * Advanced knowledge of pertinent reference materials * Ability to work shift unsupervised within prescribed framework of authority. * Engine run and taxi qualification may be required. * Fuel farm qualification may be required. * Enjoy working on commercial aircraft and growing professionally. * You have basic PC (computer) skills. *Join us…here’s the why.* Do you have a passion for aviation? Job Overview Under supervision of the Guest Service Shift Leader, provides first-line customer service and transportation to guests on the Aircraft Operations Area (AOA), for special events and tours, and during irregular operations and emergencies. What you will be doing: Operates a van or bus providing for internal and external DFW for special events or airport tours or when requested by the Integrated Operations Center (IOC) for airline hardstand operations, evacuation of disabled aircraft, or in the event of irregular operations, emergency, or disaster. Assists disabled passengers by providing special transportation as required. Completes passenger counts, mileage/time logs, malfunction, and accident reports. Assists customers with luggage. Inspects vehicle fleet for proper operation and physical condition. Locates and retrieves lost items/passengers. Responds to customer complaints to customer’s satisfaction within Board operating procedures or refers to Shift Lead for resolution. Responds to customer injuries and emergencies; acts as initial point of contact during these events and relays emergency information to appropriate persons. Fuels buses and staff vehicles daily, routinely removes trash/debris from inside vehicles and processes Regulated Garbage per federal policy, routinely drives buses and vans through washing and fueling facilities.
