Job Summary The work of the Field Service Technician classification includes troubleshooting, disassembly, checking and cleaning, repairing, replacing, testing, adjusting, assembling, installing, servicing, fabricating, and inspecting required to maintain any fixed pedestal and apron drive aircraft passenger loading bridges, baggage transport systems, aircraft ground power generators, HVAC systems, aircraft ground portable water units and related equipment and all their components. Comply with WFS site security procedures for assigned warehouse and other operations. Remain cognizant of WFS staff, security contractors, and visitors' activities and report security breaches, suspicious occurrences, or non-compliance with the site security plan to managers or via the WFS whistleblower program. This position is covered by a collective bargaining agreement. Responsibilities May be assigned to order, receive, inventory, secure or disburse parts and supplies on or off airport facilities. Certifies for quality of own workmanship. May have other Mechanic personnel assigned to assist him or her in completing an assignment. Works according to FAA and Company regulations and procedures and instructions from Lead or supervisor. Completes forms connected with work assignments according to established procedures and will communicate with other Company personnel as required in a manner designated by the Company. Must be able to work underneath trucks and equipment for extended periods of time. Push, pull, lift, and hold ground equipment parts and components weighing up to 60 pounds In the process of assembling, disassembling, repairing, or installation of these parts and components from a sitting, standing, bending, squatting, or overhead position. Lift, connect overhead and remove overhead, 40-pound 200-volt KVA electric cable. Lift and carry tools and equipment up to 100 pounds. Move and climb stairs, ladders, and scaffolding weighing up to 100 pounds. Drive vehicles weighing up to ten (10) tons in congested areas requiring good depth perception and ability to distinguish colors red, green, and yellow. Driving vehicles weighing up to two (2) tons which requires good depth perception. Work with color-coded wiring and other components which requires the ability to differentiate colors to include but not limited to red, green, yellow, blue, black, brown, white, and orange. Operate a variety of tools, including power tools, in the process of assembling, disassembling, repairing, and installing parts and components while reaching, twisting, turning, and gripping. Read and interpret printed or computerized maintenance manuals, write legibly to complete forms/paperwork as required. Minimum Requirements HS Diploma, GED or Equivalent.
