F-16 Avionics Technician

Viranim Technical Solutions is seeking an experienced F-16 Avionics Technician to support O-Level maintenance operations at Hill AFB, UT. This position requires deep technical expertise in F-16 A-D avionics systems, the ability to work independently, and a collaborative spirit to engage with both Contractor Logistics Support (CLS) and government maintenance personnel. The successful candidate will play a critical role in troubleshooting complex avionics issues, training personnel, planning modifications, and supporting material reclamation activities.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Perform O-Level maintenance on F-16 C/D avionics systems.
• Troubleshoot and maintain the following systems:
  • APG-83 Radar
  • MIDS-J Datalinks
  • HOBiT Helmet Mounted Cueing System
  • Automatic Ground Collision Avoidance System (AGCAS)
  • Center Display Unit (CDU)
  • APX-125 Advanced Identification Friend or Foe (AIFF)
  • 3-D Audio
  • ARC-210 Communication Systems
  • Memory Loader Verifier (MLV)
  • Wiring troubleshooting
  • Avionics software capabilities
• Assist CLS provider and government maintenance teams in diagnosing complex avionics maintenance issues on F-16 A-D platforms.
• Provide proficiency training in the troubleshooting and isolation of malfunctions in computerized avionics test stations and related support equipment/systems.
• Advise and assist in the identification and proper use of specialized tools, handling gear, and developmental/test support equipment.
• Develop and implement local informal training programs to improve maintenance and inspection quality; identify areas where formal training is needed.
• Provide technical analysis and consistent advice to resolve unusual maintenance challenges; recommend changes as applicable.
• Support accident/incident investigations and assist in the development of failure reports.
• Promote and instruct safe work practices to all customer personnel.

Additional Responsibilities - Ogden, UT Specific:

• Assist in planning F-16 modification schedules and estimating associated time and cost requirements.
• Coordinate with logistics teams on repair points of contact (POCs) and maintain communication with field-level contacts to stay informed on current events and needs.

Material Harvesting and Reclamation Support:

• Provide support for material harvesting from adversary aircraft.
• Disassemble aircraft to the fullest extent feasible, tag and inventory reusable and repairable components.
• Ensure adherence to COMNAVAIRFORINST 4790.2 series guidelines and all applicable handling and packaging instructions during the reclamation and storage process.
• Submit complete written component inventories for all reclaimed materials.

Required Qualifications:

• Minimum 3 years of experience in F-16 C/D avionics O-Level maintenance.
• Strong working knowledge and hands-on experience with listed avionics systems and diagnostic tools.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Demonstrated experience developing and delivering informal technical training.
• Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to work professionally and cooperatively with both military and civilian personnel.
• Active U.S. Government Security Clearance
