Job Description

Responsibilities:

  • Perform aircraft structural, and sheet-metal related activities including modifications, heavy repair, and maintenance.
  • Accomplish planned work in accordance with engineering drawings, manufacturer’s specifications, Company Process Standards and Airplane Maintenance Manuals.
  • Document all aircraft related actions in accordance with the Repair Station Manual, Quality System Manual and appropriate regulatory guidance. Ensure all paperwork requirements are kept current with job progress.
  • Prepare and submit all required documentation to Quality Control following completion of project.
  • Train employees in work methods and procedures, strictly in accordance with engineering drawings, manufacturer’s specifications, Company Process Standards and Airplane Maintenance Manuals.
  • Assist in various aircraft ground-handling tasks including servicing, lifting / shoring, and towing.
  • Promptly report any problems associated with carrying out work assignments including non-availability of parts, materials, improper work-flow, drawing discrepancies, etc.
  • Maintain a safe and clean working environment in accordance with company standards.
  • Inspect for, and report all non-airworthy aircraft, components or articles.
  • Report any unserviceable tooling, machinery, or equipment required for efficient production.
  • Maintain and record accurate time accounting records in CIMA.
  • Maintain a safe and clean working environment in accordance with company standards.
  • Complete initial / recurrent training requirements in a timely manner.
  • Other duties may be assigned.

Qualifications:

  • must have own tools (etched)
  • 4+ years' experience as a aviation structural technician (recent)
  • must be shift flexible
  • must be able to read and interpret blue prints and schematics
  • modification experience preferred- not required
  • Requires High School Education or equivalent reading, writing, and math abilities.
  • Five or more years of experience in aircraft sheet metal/structures.
  • Knowledge of the Boeing 737-700, -800 and -900; BBJ a plus
  • Solid understanding in the use of Precision measuring tools as well as basic tools.
  • Effective computer skills; Microsoft Office software and other company and discipline specific software applications.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Effective analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Must be detail oriented with the ability to multi-task, prioritize and plan work.
  • Ability and willingness to work extended hours or second shift, when needed.
  • Maintain a positive and professional attitude at all times, while setting a positive example for all employees.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

  • Read, write, and understand the English language.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret technical documents and engineering drawings.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

  • Exerting/lifting up to 50 lbs. occasionally and/or 25 lbs. frequently.
  • Use of hands and fingers to handle, feel or operate precision tools / measuring equipment.
  • Ability to maneuver in and out of and work in tight cramped areas; motions include standing, sitting, kneeling and working overhead.
  • Ability to climb ladders, aircraft maintenance stands; operate boom lifts.

Job Types: Full-time, Contract

Pay: $40.00 - $50.00 per hour

Expected hours: No less than 40 per week
