Job Title: Welder

Job Description: An ideal Aerospace Welder at Phase Incorporated in Mount Airy Maryland will have a strong background in aerospace welding, specifically with military specifications (Mil-Spec). A successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring that all products meet the highest quality standards and adhere to industry regulations.

Schedule

· 10-hour shift, 630a-500p

· Monday - Thursday

· Overtime available periodically

Qualifications

· High school diploma or equivalent,

· Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality

· Excellent time management and organizational skills,

· Good communication skills

· Willingness to undergo a background check and drug screening as required by aerospace industry standards.

Work Environment

· Ability to stand for long periods of time and carry loads of 45+ lbs,

Key Responsibilities

· Prepare surfaces for welding, including mechanically and chemically cleaning weld joints

· Weld according to military specifications (Mil-Spec), AWS D17.1/D17.1M:2017-AMD2 Class C Aerospace Specifications

· Operate and maintain painting equipment, including,

· Perform quality inspections to ensure proper adhesion of welded material

· Maintain a clean and safe working environment, adhering to all safety protocols and guidelines

· Maintain a basic set of personal measuring tools

· Collaborate with team members to ensure projects are completed on time and to customer specifications,

· Continuously improve processes and stay up-to-date with industry best practices and advancements.

· Must be able to read, understand and execute drawings to exact specifications.

· Must work well under pressure, meeting and completing multiple deadlines.

· Maintain a professional attitude and good working relationship with fellow employees

· Performs other duties as assigned throughout other areas of the shop.

Reporting Structure

· Reports directly to the General Manager

· Reports indirectly to Human Resources

Required Trainings and Documentation

· Annual Safety Training

· ITAR

· Non-Disclosure Agreement

· Technology Control Plan

· Certification of Welder Performance Qualification AWS D17.1 Fusion Welding for Aerospace Applications

· Eye exam

· ISO 9001 Training

Preferred Qualifications

· Technical or vocational training in aerospace painting or a related field

· Knowledge of Military and Industrial specifications for welding

· Thorough understanding of aerospace welding processes and techniques,

· Proficiency in operating and maintaining welding equipment,

· Familiarity with welding manufacturing principles and continuous improvement processes

· Experience working with advanced aerospace materials, such as composites or specialty alloys

· Experience with fixturing, backing platers, heat sinks, shrinkage of materials

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From $25.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
