Job Profile : The Line Maintenance Planner (“LMP”) in Columbus, OH is crucial to the scheduling and management of line maintenance events. The LMP receives strategy, parameters and guidance to schedule and define line maintenance events for the organization’s fleet of aircraft. The LMP plays a critical role with respect to the efficient scheduling of line maintenance inputs and minimizing aircraft downtimes to maximize aircraft availability. Responsibilities: The Line Maintenance Planner shall have the following responsibilities: Responsible for short-range forecasting, applying agreed strategies for the planning of scheduled line maintenance, rectification of MEL Class C and D items, preventative maintenance and any additional maintenance tasks. Seeks to optimize the scheduling of aircraft downtimes to ensure maximum aircraft availability while ensuring all require maintenance is performed in a timely manner. Schedules all line maintenance events, ensuring that the selected maintenance providers have the approvals, skilled trades, labor, tooling and capacity to perform the work package in the agreed timeframe. Works closely with maintenance service providers to achieve shortest aircraft downtimes. Participates in the daily critical review of all scheduled with Planning Team to ensure that line planning reflects the approved maintenance program requirements and demands of the operation, and that short-notice changes are optimally integrated into the schedule. Liaises with MCC Controllers to schedule line maintenance events including the rectification of MEL Class C and D items. Ensures maintenance tracking software is kept up-to-date and accurate. Ensures that assigned work packages are built that make efficient use of aircraft downtime, while ensuring that all due / forecast scheduled checks and tasks, Airworthiness Directives, Service Bulletins, modifications, repairs, component replacements, etc. are performed. Ensures line maintenance packages are developed that utilize the time available between flights and overnight to increase aircraft reliability and availability. Executes agreed fleet campaigns and the timely performance of Airworthiness Directive actions and mandatory Service bulletin compliance. Ensures assigned all work packages contain the latest revision of the applicable task cards, checks, instructions, drawings, etc. required by the maintenance service providers to perform the work package as efficiently as possible. Builds work packages in the maintenance tracking software and reviews to ensure the accuracy and completeness of work packages. Works closely with Procurement Team to ensure that all required parts, materials and tooling are available and delivered to the contract maintenance service provider for each scheduled work package. Works closely with Technical Services Team providing critical feedback on the effectivity of the approved maintenance programs and reliability efforts. Collaborate with the Technical Services Team to support the integration of new Maintenance Program revisions and support development of tailored bridging programs if/when required when Maintenance Program revisions are released. Collaborate with Manager of Line Maintenance Planning to develop more efficient and effective processes. Coach and mentor maintenance planners and supporting team members.
