QTEC Aerospace is seeking multiple ELECTRO-MECHANICAL MAINTENANCE TECHNICIANS to join our team of professionals in Huntsville, AL. The qualified applicants will become part of a team of professionals representing both industry and government. The successful candidates will be detail oriented, have a proven track record and a positive work ethic. Job Summary QTEC Aerospace is looking for highly capable and motivated individuals. The successful candidates will function as an integral member of a multi-contractor team providing program, engineering, and technical support to Missile Defense programs. The chosen candidates will use their specialized knowledge to maintain, repair, and upgrade computer and electronic devices. Job Duties/Responsibilities Responsibilities will include, but may not be limited to the following: Installing software and databases to troubleshooting hardware problems Manage inventory, track call histories, and assist in system backups May train other technicians, update asset management, and configure new and existing devices Work with on-call support teams to resolve complex issues Use various software applications to manage tasks and maintain system security Clean, inspect, and detail pre-repair condition of all repairs Perform system and component failure analysis using validated diagnostic troubleshooting techniques Replace all non-conforming and preventive maintenance parts as needed Fully test and calibrate completed repairs, and provide comprehensive test data, documentation, and service reporting Handle most record keeping functions for Return Authorizations, Service Quotes, and Service Orders Drive lean practices and continuous improvement events central to our service business Minimum Education and Experience At least 2 years of depot forward maintenance experience Associate Certified Electronic Technician (CETs) certification. IPC – 610/620 Certification Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Experience with operating systems such as Windows, Linux, and Unix Must have the ability to lift a minimum of 25 pounds Manual dexterity to handle all types of hand tools (wrenches, pliers, crimp, screwdriver, etc.) Demonstrated ability to review technical manuals, drawings, schematics Proficiency with Electrical Static Discharge control processes Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams Self-motivated and customer-oriented Desired Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Familiarity with any of the following: IPC/WHMA-A-620, MIL-DTL-22520, NASA-STD-8739, J-STD-001, and/or ANSI/ESD S20.20 IPC A-610 Class 2 or Class 3 soldering certificate Experience working with spacecraft, aircraft, rocket ordnance/rocket motors, and missile components Experience with assembling, repairing, and testing mechanical and electrical components and systems Experience developing troubleshooting procedures for electrical systems Ability to operate a Forklift, truck mounted crane, and other MHE associated equipment Experience in isolating and correcting malfunctions using automatic and semi-automatic program maintenance diagnostics, unit self-tests, and Built-In Test Equipment (BITE) as well as industry standard commercial off the shelf external test equipment Proficient in the use of a wide range of test equipment to include multimeters, oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, signal generators, and power meters Proficiency performing electrical system diagnostics and troubleshooting to isolate and resolve root cause problems within a circuit card assembly (CCA) or electro-mechanical system Graduate of a commercial or military maintenance school or program Security Clearance Candidates must currently have and be able to maintain a minimum DoD SECRET level security clearance. POSITION: Technician – Electro-mechanical (Aviation) Status: Non-Exempt Location: Auburn, Washington Department: Electromechanical Shop (1131) Starting Hourly Pay Scale $25.00-$27.00 Overall Hourly Pay Scale $25.00-$30.36 Schedule: Monday-Friday, 5:55AM-2:30PM (40 hours/week), subject to overtime SUMMARY: This position is primarily responsible for the repair/overhaul of pneumatic/electrical operated aircraft components. The position cross-trains in other departments. The position requires the ability to read/write/understand the English language, following directions, and work in various teamwork settings. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Test, disassemble, inspect, repair and reassemble aircraft components. Work overtime and holidays on a short notice. Follow customer’s special instructions and requirements. Follow all company procedures and policies. Follow all safety and security policies and regulations. Back up department functions, cross-train in other departments and performs other duties as necessary. Report to work on a regular and consistent basis. REQUIRED ABILITY TO: Read and understand component maintenance/overhaul manuals. Read and understand drawings, wiring schematics and flow diagrams. Be a reliable self-starter. Demonstrate the use of common hand tools. Demonstrate the use of torque wrenches, micrometers, dial calipers and multi-meters. Stand and work for long periods of time. Lift, move, push and pull up to fifty (50) lbs. on a consistent basis. Demonstrate good verbal and written communication skills in English. Build alliances, partnerships and collaborate with co-workers in a tactful, professional and respectful manner. Be a team player with strong interpersonal skills. REQUIRED EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE: High School degree or equivalent. Valid driver’s license and good driving record. This position requires drug testing and criminal background check in accordance with FAA regulations. Must be legally authorized to work in the United States. 6 months + of mechanical experience. DESIRED EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE: Airframe or Airframe and Powerplant license. 1 year + of experience of electro-mechanical experience. WORKING CONDITIONS: Continuous work in manufacturing/production setting. Continuous walking and standing, and lifting, pushing and pulling heavy objects throughout the work day.
