Perform hidden damage inspection Ensure all paperwork is complete and complies with engineering specifications, manufacturers maintenance manual, and Repair Station/Quality Control Manual prior to end-of-shift Perform service inspections of aircraft or components in accordance with applicable parts of chapter 14 CFR (FARs) and the manufacturer’s maintenance manual Assist other inspectors in the performance of their duties within area(s) of qualification Perform the Preliminary Inspection upon arrival of an aircraft at the facility prior to the commencement of maintenance or inspection. Inspect aircraft maintenance, repairs and alterations performed by Aircraft Maintenance Technicians to ensure the corrective action was completed Inspect all flight control systems maintenance Inspect fuel panels, final floorboard installation, final nose cowl closing, final aft fuselage closing, and final circuit breaker panel installation and provide “OK to Install” Inspect engine installation and provide “Installation OK” Train, coach and mentor employees in the performance of duties in area(s) of qualification Perform conformity inspections of engineering documents to most current design per assigned aircraft. Weigh aircraft using the pre-weight checklist Initiate RED’s and RFE’s as required How to thrive in this role? Skills, knowledge & experience: You typically have 5 years' aircraft maintenance experience You have 2 to 3 years' inspection experience - preferred You typically have 1 year aircraft maintenance experience with Bombardier business jet aircraft - preferred You have the ability to read and interpret engineering documents and maintenance manuals You have an Airframe & Powerplant (A&P) license or appropriately rated Repairman Certificate. You have basic knowledge of SAP You have working knowledge of business aircraft inspection programs, for example, final close out procedures, engine installations, and in-process inspections You have working knowledge of business aircraft maintenance, preventative maintenance, rebuilding, and alteration as related to inspection buy-off You have working knowledge of Repair Station/Quality Control Manual Now that you can see yourself in this role, apply and join the Bombardier family! About the Role As the Airport Safety, Security, and Community Engagement Manager, you will serve as a key leader at the Truckee Tahoe Airport District, overseeing a wide array of safety and regulatory responsibilities while acting as a liaison to the community. Reporting to the Director of Aviation, you will: • Manage the District’s safety and security programs to ensure compliance with FAA, TSA, and Cal/OSHA regulations. • Coordinate emergency preparedness efforts in collaboration with local first responders. • Oversee access control systems and conduct routine security audits. • Manage the District’s stormwater and hazardous materials programs. • Lead responses to community noise and annoyance concerns using specialized tracking tools, analyzing trends, communicating with pilots and residents, and promoting noise abatement strategies. You will also: • Prepare reports and present findings to the Board of Directors and senior leadership. • Manage vendor contracts, apply for grants, and support internal policy development. • Build public trust by engaging transparently with community members and implementing solutions that support both airport operations and neighborhood quality of life. ⸻ The Ideal Candidate You are a skilled aviation professional with: • A well-rounded blend of technical knowledge, regulatory experience, and a strong commitment to community service. • Confidence in interpreting and applying complex safety, security, and environmental regulations. • A track record of developing policies and procedures that enhance compliance and operational effectiveness. • Excellent communication skills for engaging with pilots, regulators, Board Members, and community members. • Strong organizational abilities and data analysis skills to inform decision-making. • A proactive mindset and customer-service orientation. ⸻ Minimum Qualifications • Experience: Five years of progressively responsible experience in aviation safety, airport operations, accident/safety investigations, or community relations. • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Aviation Management, Safety, Communications, or a related field. • Certifications (Desirable): AAAE ACE – Operations, OSHA 30-Hour, and/or Private Pilot’s License. • License: Possession of or ability to obtain a valid driver’s license. ⸻ Work Environment This position involves a mix of office, field, and community engagement work, including occasional evenings and weekends for meetings and events. The ability to respond during emergencies and perform in diverse weather and terrain conditions is required.
