Overview Joby Aviation is looking for talented mechanics, technicians, and fabricators to join our Final Integration and Assembly team. In this role, you will be trained to assemble all the parts, components, harnesses, avionics, interiors, landing gear and systems into the final aircraft needed to prepare it for flight. Responsibilities Ensures quality and efficiency of all installations: able to troubleshoot and teach troubleshooting processes/concepts Self-inspection capability Knowledge and/or skills of operating acceptance tests Ability to work hand in hand with engineering to define work instructions Able to work both independently with little direction both on and off aircraft Must be able to implement key ideas and projects to drive our company forward! 5+ years’ experience in aviation, electric vehicle or automotive assembly or repair Proficient in troubleshooting of complex systems to isolate faults and repair faulty components Experienced in production process improvement – Toyota Production method and Kaizen Strong familiarity with electronic wiring, motors, batteries and systems Experienced in process and procedure development Able to train higher level technicians Inspection background a bonus Will have an open mind, be creative, and enjoy problem solving. In this role, you will be responsible for performing composite layup operations to manufacture high-quality composite parts. The ideal candidate should have demonstrated experience in pre-preg ply placement on open face tooling, ply orientation and material consolidation techniques. Additionally, proficiency in performing vacuum bagging, debulking and knowledge of curing operations are necessary for this role. Responsibilities Perform tooling prep operations in preparation for lamination. Prepare and organize composite materials in preparation for lamination. Apply composite materials onto molds or tooling surfaces using techniques like hand layup or automated processes. Ensure proper ply orientation, ply thickness, and material consolidation is achieved. Proficiency in vacuum bagging techniques for composite layup operations. Interpret engineering drawings and specifications. Basic use of computers for documentation and record-keeping purposes. Able to verbally communicate, read and comprehend written and verbal instructions. Required High School Diploma or GED Equivalent. Work Shift Monday-Friday 7AM-530PM. Reliable, punctual and have dependable transportation. Ability to follow safe work practices. Strong attention to detail and precision. Manual dexterity and able to use hand tools.
