Aviation Service Partners (ASP) is looking for an Airframe and Powerplant Mechanic to join our team. What You’ll Be Doing: On-Call Maintenance at Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport, FL. Average 20-30hrs weekly The A&P Mechanic examines, repairs, removes & replaces, assembles, and tests aircraft accessories, such as engines, power brake units, auxiliary electric motors, spark igniters, valves, pumps, fuselage, wings, and oil and fuel tanks, using hand tools and testing devices, and following the appropriate Aircraft & Component Manuals and manufacturer’s specifications. What You’ll Need to Succeed: • Valid A&P License • Previous lead experience. • Experience with Commercial or DoD Aircraft. • Technical data or work package instructions; experience using power or pneumatic hand tools. • Demonstrates correct understanding of routine aspects of work. • Knowledge of machines and tools, including their uses, repairs, and maintenance. • Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer service. • Skilled in repairing, troubleshooting, installing, and maintaining equipment. • Knowledge of FAA requirements for aircraft maintenance procedures • Ability to interpret and comprehend manufacturer and FAA-approved work package instructions; ability to inspect and install arts/components. • Ability to work in a safe professional manner, adhering to all regulatory requirements, including OSHA, EPA, State, and Federal regulations. • As required by the position, must have the ability to wear a respirator as per OSHA 29 CFR 1910.134 “Respirator Protection” regulations with no restrictions that would prevent the proper use and/or seal of the respirator. • Employees will be subject to random drug and alcohol testing under FAA regulations • Commitment to company values and complies with department norms, policies, directives, and procedures. • Strive for continuous improvement of processes and procedures. • Must have the minimum tools as required. • Must be willing to perform other functions and duties as assigned by managers and supervisors. • High school diploma or equivalent required. • Must have reliable transportation to and from the job site. • Must pass pre-employment drug screen and background check. Computer literate in Microsoft Word, Excel or similar programs. Ability to work multiple tasks while under pressure. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Must be able to read and interpret the Maintenance Manual, Illustrated Parts Catalogue, Structural Repair and Wiring Diagrams System Schematics, and use ATA codes. Must have a proven record of experience supervising multiple gate operations, coordinating maintenance activities with maintenance control and down line stations, and developing subordinate technical skills Ability to lift up to 50 lbs with or without accommodation; clearly write, read, and speak the English language; Squat, bend and climb regularly; work off of stands and lift trucks. Job Responsibilities: • Must know and understand how to read wiring diagrams and manuals. • Must be familiar with avionics troubleshooting, repair, and installations. • Participate and communicate well in customer debrief meetings as requested • Responsible for overall crew performance, productivity, and efficiency. • Must know how to use IFR6000, MPS43B, • Monitor safe work practices, environmental compliance and proper housekeeping • Ensure the aircraft stays on schedule; notify the Avionics Manager and/or Service Manager if issues arise. • Perform advance level troubleshooting and repairs. • Assist Avionics Technicians during installations and troubleshooting. • Assist Avionics Manager in quoting installations and troubleshooting systems. • Provide OJT training to other avionics technicians when needed. • Implement avionics standards, methods, and procedures utilized by Toledo Jet to ensure compliance with the RSM, Operations Specifications, Federal Aviation Regulations, and manufacturers recommendations • Ensure that subordinate avionics personnel are qualified to perform the avionics procedures assigned and the appropriate technical documentation is utilized • Supervise and direct assigned avionics personnel in the accomplishment of safe, on-time, completion of maintenance procedures in a quality fashion • Provide continuity of avionics when shift changes or work assignment changes occur in accordance with established procedures • Ensure that tools, support equipment and facilities are inspected and maintained in a clean and serviceable condition • Make requests or otherwise arrange for Ground Support Equipment and tooling when needed • Assist and/or provide quarterly and annual performance reviews of assigned personnel • Recommend changes to crew staffing levels and skill set requirements to management • Recommends technical training courses for team members based upon needs and abilities • Coordinate and schedule with other departments the expertise needed to complete work projects and packages • Work with outside vendors, internal project management, and other technicians to assist with troubleshooting or resolution of any production related matter. *Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required* • Must have 10+ years of avionics experience in general aviation. • Detailed knowledge of avionics systems, pitot-static, RVSM, reading wire diagrams for both installations and troubleshooting aircraft systems. • High School graduate or equivalent • Airframe and Powerplant certificate a plus but not required • Knowledge of Federal Aviation Regulations related to maintenance and procedures • Excellent written and oral communication skills • Detailed working knowledge of Corridor or similar Work Order control system is desired Job Type: Full-time Pay: $35.00 - $45.00 per hour Expected hours: 40 – 50 per week Benefits: * 401(k) * 401(k) matching * Dental insurance * Health insurance * Paid time off * Vision insurance Schedule: * 8 hour shift * Monday to Friday Ability to Commute: * Fort Lauderdale, FL 33309 (Preferred) Work Location: In person
