Job Description

Job Summary:

The A&P Mechanic is responsible for inspecting, maintaining, repairing, and overhauling aircraft and related components in compliance with FAA regulations and company quality standards (ISO 9001, AS9120, AS9110). This role ensures aircraft are safe, airworthy, and meet performance specifications while supporting the company’s operational and quality objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

Quality and Compliance:

  • Perform all work in accordance with FAA regulations, company procedures, and quality standards (ISO 9001, AS9120, AS9110).
  • Accurately document all inspections, repairs, and maintenance activities for traceability and compliance.
  • Ensure work is performed using approved data, manuals, and tools.

Roles and Accountability:

  • Adhere to the company’s Quality Management System (QMS).
  • Identify and report non-conformities or safety hazards to the Director of Maintenance.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area.

Operational Duties:

  • Perform inspections, troubleshooting, repairs, and maintenance on airframes, powerplants, and related systems.
  • Conduct functional tests to verify airworthiness of repaired components or aircraft.
  • Collaborate with Quality Assurance to resolve discrepancies.
  • Utilize specialized tools, equipment, and safety gear properly.
  • Participate in required training and keep certifications current.

Continuous Improvement:

  • Contribute ideas and feedback to improve maintenance practices and efficiency.
  • Stay informed on industry best practices, regulatory updates, and new technologies.

Qualifications and Competency Requirements:

Education:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Technical school or military aviation maintenance training preferred.

Experience:

  • Minimum 3 years of hands-on aircraft maintenance experience in an MRO or equivalent environment.

Skills:

  • Strong knowledge of FAA regulations, airframe and powerplant systems.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, manuals, and schematics.
  • High attention to detail, organizational skills, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Effective communication and teamwork skills.

Certifications:

  • Valid FAA Airframe & Powerplant (A&P) Certificate required.
  • Additional manufacturer or system-specific training is a plus.
