Job Description

Chipton-Ross is currently seeking a skilled and motivated Aircraft Mechanic for a long-term contract opportunity with a leading aerospace client in Trumbull, Connecticut. This position offers the chance to work in a dynamic, safety-focused environment supporting advanced aerospace technologies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform mechanical tasks independently with minimal supervision.
  • Use precision measuring instruments (feeler gauges, dial indicators, micrometers, calipers) to ensure accuracy and compliance.
  • Repair components using techniques such as filing, stoning, lapping, and polishing.
  • Operate power and hand tools for drilling, sanding, riveting, and related tasks.
  • Document inspection results clearly and communicate repair requirements both internally and externally.
  • Comply with all Environmental, Health & Safety (EH&S) standards, as well as FAA, EASA, and company regulations.
  • Interpret and follow technical documentation including component maintenance manuals, service bulletins, drawings, and check sheets.
  • Use torque wrenches accurately and apply SAC torque specification SS9300.
  • Apply chemical treatments to repaired surfaces in line with approved processes.
  • Review and interpret documentation for part identification, work sequencing, and record-keeping.
  • Perform precision mechanical operations such as drilling, reaming, tapping, installing helicoils, bushings, and liners using shrink fit and arbor press methods.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Completion of an automotive or technical trade school program.
  • FAA Airframe License (preferred but not required).

Required Education:

  • High School Diploma or GED from an accredited institution.

Schedule & Additional Information:

  • Full-Time | 1st Shift | 4/10 Schedule (Monday–Thursday)
  • This is a safety-sensitive role. Candidates must complete all pre-placement requirements and will be subject to ongoing random drug and alcohol testing per federal regulations.
