*As an Avionics Technician, here is what you’ll be doing at the core, day to day.* * Install and test complex avionics equipment and electrical systems on aircraft. * Comply with environmental health/safety policies and procedures. * Perform and document all work per appropriate manuals and regulations. * Remove, repair and re-install any problematic avionics equipment before aircraft is cleared. * Assemble and install electrical components. * Operate ground support equipment if required. * Provide accurate diagnosis of avionics problem(s). * Maintain detailed records of all repairs and worked performed on aircraft. *Here’s what is required to succeed as an Avionics Technician.* * Minimum of 1 year of work experience or substantiated equivalent experience. * Corporate jet aircraft or commercial aircraft experience preferred. * Military aircraft maintenance experience (Depot/Isochronal/Phase inspections) is a plus. * High school diploma or equivalent required. * FAA Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) or Airframe (A) License is preferred. * GROL (General Radiotelephone Operator License) or AET (Aircraft Electronics Technician) Certification preferred. * Certification from Avionics, Electric A/C Technical school or equivalent military training is preferred. * Comfortable working with technology / entering aircraft maintenance actions into a computer-based system. * Ability to read and interpret blueprints. * Excellent analytical skills and attention-to-detail. * Strong working knowledge of aviation safety practices and technology. * Understand various aircraft systems, such as hydraulics and flight controls. * Ability to obtain a Security Identification Display Area badge (SIDA), if applicable. * Must be comfortable with shift work; we are a 24/7 operation with 12-hour shifts which include days, nights, and weekends. * Possess (basic) set of tools. * Ability to effectively communicate aircraft maintenance actions verbally and in writing. *Join us…here’s the why.* Do you have a passion for aviation? Job Title: Technical Services Supervisor Department: Maintenance Reports To: Technical Services Manager ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to: 1. Responsible for Technical Services Department processes. Must identify any changes that will enhance departmental process quality and submit Maintenance Program Revision Requests for applicable policy and procedure changes. 2. Monitor current and historical data for chronic or repetitive discrepancies and faults on aircraft systems, structures, components, and wiring. 3. Initiate an Advisory Notice Form R-01 when chronic / repeat items are detected on Company aircraft. 4. Maintain a file of all Advisory Notices issued to each aircraft. Advisory Notices will be kept on file for one year. 5. Provide a monthly report to the CASS Department detailing the current status of issued Advisory Notices. 6. Coordinate on a daily basis with the Maintenance Control Department regarding all current DMIs. Provide assistance in troubleshooting and initiating corrective actions for deferred items. 7. Maintain open lines of communication with the Maintenance Control Department to ensure overall effectiveness and sharing of information, including any Maintenance Action Plans developed and implemented to troubleshoot or repair Company aircraft and equipment. 8. Provide technical support to all maintenance personnel when needed, e.g. telephone consultation, research, follow-up, etc. 9. When requested, investigate components returned from repair providers when the provider is unable to confirm the reason for removal. This investigation is meant to ensure that the component change did correct the original discrepancy, and that the returned component is in serviceable condition. 10. Coordinate with the Maintenance Training Manager to ensure that personnel are properly trained / retrained in problematic areas. Ensure that assigned personnel complete any due/overdue training. 11. Coordinate with the Engineering Department, and provide any information needed for major repairs or modifications required to increase reliability. 12. Create a list, by aircraft tail number, of all repetitive maintenance discrepancies as defined in Section 9.6. This list will be provided to flight following management on a weekly basis. 13. Perform any other duties as assigned by the Technical Services Manager. QUALIFICATIONS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must have a valid A&P Certificate, experience working Heavy Transport Aircraft 747-400 and 777 aircraft, be able to use and understand wiring diagrams, maintenance manuals, troubleshooting manuals and parts manuals, have good computer skills and verbal communication skills as well. Have at least 5 years of experience maintaining the same category and class of airplanes operated by Kalitta Air Have at least 5 years supervisory experience Must be appropriately certificated under 14 CFR Part 65 FAA Airframe & Power Plant Certificate Individual must be organized and able to work with computers and programs such as Word, Excel, Outlook, etc. Must be legally authorized to work in the U.S EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE High school graduate; some college and/or technical school desirable. LANGUAGE SKILLS Ability to read, write and understand spoken and written English. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to give verbal and written direction to assigned staff.
