We’re looking for a full-time Aircraft Maintenance Technician (AMT) who has valid Airframe & Powerplant certification to join our Technical Operations team in one of United’s domestic HUBS. In this vital role, you will provide service and maintenance for aircraft systems, Powerplant, Airframe and Components. You’ll handle a wide variety of duties that make every day different, including inspections, preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, parts replacement and repair, as well as routine maintenance. Keeping our fleet flight-ready Strong mechanical competence and attention to detail are crucial for this critical position. Unlike smaller regional airlines, you’ll have the opportunity to work on larger, highly sophisticated aircraft with United. We will rely on you to be a great teammate, receiving and providing support as you collaborate professionally and seamlessly with your co-workers. You will generally be working out in the elements, so you must be capable of handling weather extremes. You will likely roll up your sleeves, but for those who enjoy hands-on work, it’s all part of the job. Many routes to success We offer initial training, specialty classes and recurrent training in technical areas and on other topics such as ethics and compliance. With experience, drive and determination to excel, you can move into a variety of roles, including management, inspection, quality control, fleet planning and others. After gaining seniority, you’ll have the opportunity to transfer to other locations within our outstanding network. Flexibility and dependability are essential Since this is a union position based on seniority, you will be assigned an initial schedule designed to meet our needs at the airport. You must be available for any shift within a 24/7 operation, weekends and holidays. You may be required to work mandatory overtime, when necessary. The role will actively work cross functionally with teams in Joby aviation including engineering, manufacturing, maintenance and operations to successfully deploy protocols related to fleet care. The Senior Fleet Care Technical Specialist will be responsible for: Developing the processes and procedures related to OEM aircraft fleet support in support of field events; AOG resolution, issue resolution, fleet monitoring Act as a senior member of the OEM fleet care team as the S4 program enters commercial operations Responsibilities Support the development and deployment of a fleet care center, where the Joby OEM organization will provide worldwide support to the commercial operations organization Lead the development of processes and procedures related to technical fleet support Support aircraft development of relevant documentation (ex: Fault Isolation Manual) to support the field and provide field feedback to the design organization Heavy focus on development of the workflows, templates for expected service issues Running simulations and practice events with OEM stakeholders and operations stakeholders prior to commercial entry into service Act as a senior member of the OEM fleet care team once in commercial service Required 5+ years’ experience in aircraft OEM or airline engineering/maintenance roles Technical diploma, AMP certificate or university degree Aircraft Maintenance Professional, engineering, or equivalent technical experience Knowledge and experience in Part 23/Part 25 aircraft programs Experience deploying technical support in various field environments Strong communication skills, ability to liaise with internal and external teams Comfortable in a first line role managing complex and evolving situations Self-starter who is comfortable solving open ended problems Knowledge of in-service documentation such as CSL/ACR/SB/ADL/SRM or equivalent Desired Experience in first or second line customer support or field service representative in an OEM or equivalent entity. (Aviation preferred) Additional Information Compensation at Joby is a combination of base pay and Restricted Stock Units (RSUs). The target base pay for this position is $140,200 - $227,500/year annually. The compensation package will be determined by job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
