Apex Aviation is excited to have a startup satellite location in Bermuda Dunes, California! We are looking for qualified Lead Avionics Technician to join our team! Apex Aviation is Headquartered at the Henderson Executive Airport in Southern Nevada. We are an FAA approved Part 145 Repair Station serving the corporate and general aviation industries. Highly qualified factory trained technicians provide aircraft maintenance, major repairs and major alterations, modifications, avionic upgrades and avionics installations, and overhauls for Turbine Aircraft, Piston Aircraft, Turboprop Aircraft and Rotor Aircraft. We provide professional interior and exterior aircraft detailing. We work on many types of aircraft, such as Gulfstream, Cessna, Bombardier, Lear, Eclipse that range from mid-size and large size cabin. The AOG Go-Team at Apex is a global mobile repair team with no borders. We have traveled as far south as Australia and as far north as Siberia... literally. Founded in March 2014, Apex is on a path of steady, strategic growth. *Position Summary* Lead Avionics Technician is the person responsible for building and maintaining a profitable avionics department per FAA and industry standards. Reports to the General Manager. Delegates Avionics Technicians daily work task. *Qualifications/Skills* * Minimum of 5-years’ experience managing an FAA Part 145 Certificated Repair Station Avionics Department * Meet experience requirements to qualify for an FAA Repairman Certificate per FAA CFR 65 * Strong management, supervisory and leadership skills. * Excellent communication skills, both verbally and in writing. * Effective customer service skills. * Driver’s License * 10-years’ experience managing an FAA Part 145 Certificated Repair Station Avionics Department * FAA Mechanics Certificate with Airframe and Powerplant Ratings * Bachelor’s Degree in related field *Primary Job Functions* * Responsible for the leadership, organization and delegation of the avionics technicians. * Sets priorities and schedules day to day avionics maintenance operations. * Provides leadership, technical expertise, and guidance while performing various operational/functional tests and repairs of avionics/electronic aircraft equipment and systems to ensure airworthy aircraft. * Ensures that all inspections are properly performed, and the proper inspection records, reports, and forms used by the repair station, are properly executed prior to the release of the aircraft for return to service. * Demonstrates technical expertise and leadership by defining and implementing process changes to reduce cost and turnaround times without compromising Safety or Quality. * Coordinates crossover of jobs between all departments. * Ensures training currency for the Avionics Department is maintained as defined in Company Manuals. * Provides daily aircraft status updates for avionics work to upper management. * Provide the customer with timely and accurate quotes for maintenance/modifications requested. * Ensures Avionics Department labor hours are accurately recorded on aircraft work orders. * Other duties as assigned. *Physical Demands* The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform required duties.
