Summary: The F-16 Weapons Technician is responsible for the Oversight/Training/Instruction of inspections, maintenance, and repair of weapons systems and associated equipment on the F-16 aircraft, loading ordnance, and configuring load outs for each flight. Oversight/Training/Instructions for the following duties and responsibilities: Administers/monitors weapons loading standardization training and evaluation programs. Documents/maintains qualification/certification status per the company training and certification requirements. Weapons load crew duties, as required, in support of training exercises, inspections, etc. Monitors flightline munitions/explosive handling and loading operations, if applicable. Monitors load crews during operations Maintains current awareness and training of proper weapons storage and security, if applicable. Armament systems maintenance/loading/flight operations, as applicable. Installation/removal of alternate mission equipment (AME) and normally-installed equipment, as needed, and weapons OPS checks. One-time inspections (OTI); Time Compliance Tech Orders (TCTO); and maintains/inspects tools and equipment. May be asked to perform End-of-Runway (EOR) inspections, if needed. Troubleshooting and repairs to assigned aircraft as directed. Read and interpret schematics, engineering drawings, and other technical directives. Ensure the work accomplished on any aircraft or component is in compliance Complete and certify work reports for all work accomplished on the aircraft. Follow company procedures as per the maintenance operations manual using safe work practices. Ability to work independently and to carry out assignments to completion within parameters of instructions given prescribed routines, and standard accepted practices. Requirements: Job Requirements: High school diploma or GED required Associate degree strongly preferred, Bachelor's Degree or equivalent a plus A minimum of 8-10 years of direct F-16 Weapons/Armament Maintenance experience and training on F-16 aircraft. USAF 7 – Level skill or equivalent Work Conditions: Position is located OCONUS and in an austere environment; work is being performed on the flight line, limited hangar or aviation field environment. Physical Requirements: • Must be able to lift and parts, tooling and other awkward items sometimes weighing greater than 50 lbs, including up and down stairs. • Requires intermittent standing, walking, sitting, squatting, stretching, and bending throughout the workday. • Must be able to see and hear, or use prosthetics that will enable these senses to function adequately to assure that the requirements of this position can be fully met. Major Job Activities Key Responsibilities: - Train, advise, assist, and integrate IqAF maintenance personnel on APG systems including propulsion, hydraulics, and airframe components. - Perform and supervise scheduled and unscheduled maintenance tasks to ensure safe and mission-ready aircraft. - Use and instruct IqAF in proper use of technical data, schematics, and maintenance documentation. - Conduct engine runs, operational checks, and system troubleshooting on the flightline. - Document maintenance actions accurately in accordance with approved systems and procedures. - Recommend process improvements and assist in normalizing IqAF APG operations. - Support additional duties and team integration as directed by Site Leadership. Essential Duties and Responsibilities for Oversight/Training/Instructing host nation in the following: • Routine and non-routine inspections of F-16 aircraft engines, identifying issues or areas requiring attention. • Scheduled maintenance, including troubleshooting, removing, and installing engine components. • Utilizing advanced diagnostic equipment to assess engine conditions and analyze engine performance. • Repairing and replacing worn or damaged components, such as turbine blades, bearings, and seals, ensuring compliance with technical specifications. • Maintaining detailed records of work performed, including inspection and maintenance logs, and report findings to ensure accurate documentation. • Adhering to all safety protocols and technical manuals during maintenance procedures to ensure personnel safety and equipment functionality. • Collaborating with other technicians and engineers to discuss solutions for complex mechanical or technical issues. • Staying up-to-date on F-16 engine technologies, tools, and best practices by participating in ongoing training and professional development. • Supporting pre- and post-flight engine checks, ensuring engine readiness and addressing last-minute maintenance needs.
