Job Description: Sheet Metal Technician IMMEDIATELY HIRING! Sheet Metal Technician FULL-TIME Opportunity in Wichita, KS Starting Wage: $30.00-$40.00/hr. DOE (including 8% Geo-Modifier) The Sheet Metal Technician is responsible for repairs and alterations to all metal and composite structures and maintains Repair Station work orders for work completed. They also review the work scope to ensure all repairs and alterations are performed correctly and on schedule. Responsibilities Conduct repairs on metal and composite structures Read and interpret mechanical drawings Perform major repairs on airframe sheet metal or composite Perform alterations on the airframe by utilizing structural repair manuals and/or blueprints or technical drawings Perform other work on the refurbished/conversion aircraft as directed Install, alter and repair sheet metal products systems utilizing blueprints, drawings and work orders. Plan and coordinate tasks and amount of material required for performance of work. Prepare and implement equipment based on need. Including, but not limited to power saws, drill presses, hand and power shears, pan and box brakes, lockformers, cleat benders, and rollers to cut, punch, thread and form sheet metal. Coordinate and assemble sheet metal products. Tasks include, but are not limited to, solder and bolt connections; apply insulation as required; inspect assemblies and installation for conformance with specifications. Quality Assurance - operational checks of sheet metal installations to determine quality and any necessary corrective action that may need to be taken. Minimum Required Qualifications Four (4) years of experience in sheet metal installation and fabrication. Maintenance experience related specifically to sheet metal products Proven working knowledge and experience in ability to read and interpret blue prints accurately Ability to troubleshoot service issues with systematic, thoughtful, timely and effective solutions and procedures Demonstrate proper and safe use of tools and related equipment Experience in providing quality, professional customer-related services Ability to work and communicate effectively individually as well as in a team environment Ability to work independently in commercial and construction settings. SUMMARY: The Aviation Accessory Technician III is responsible for performing maintenance on all fuel, oil, or air accessories by civil aviation articles in accordance with the current technical data provided in the manufacturers’ Instructions for Continued Airworthiness, Services Bulletins, service letters, Airworthiness Directives, government and industry standard practices, and other data acceptable to or approved by the FAA. This role requires technical knowledge and troubleshooting skills. DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: • Assemble all fuel controls, or all governors, or all fuel, oil, or air accessories if designated assembler. • Test limited fuel controls, or limited governors, or all fuel, oil, air accessories if designated test bench operator. • Operate test equipment as needed to ensure accessories pass function test. • Utilize hand tools and specialty tools for precision measurements daily. • Read and interpret technical data and drawings. • Generate data plates for components completed with use of a laser system. • Verify all accessories are tested to the appropriate specifications to ensure airworthiness. • Troubleshoot accessories failing test or set up to determine root cause of failure. • Work closely with quality assurance and engineering teams to identify and resolve technical issues. • Document maintenance records of all repair work orders performed. • Other duties as assigned. MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS (INCLUDES EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, COMPETENCIES), ETC.): • Associate’s degree. • 2+ years of relevant/technical work experience • OR an additional 2 years of specific work experience in lieu of degree. • Proficiency in using precision measuring instruments, hand tools, and test equipment. • Diagnose and resolve technical failures. • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow technical instructions. • Very high Mechanical aptitude. • Ability to read and interpret technical documents, component maintenance manuals (CMMs), and engineering drawings. • Basic computer operating skills. • Flexible to changing workloads/priorities based on customer requirements. • Must be able to read, write, and understand English. • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining accuracy and quality.
