TAT Technologies Greensboro is looking for qualified APU LRU (Line Replacement Unit) Technicians. APU (Auxiliary Power Unit) is a turbine engine utilized on the aircraft to provide electrical and pneumatic power during periods when the main engines are not running. The following is a list of job duties that an APU LRU (Line Replacement Unit) Technician will perform: Essential Job Functions: Responsible for the disassembly, cleaning, analytical inspection, repair schemes, painting, assembly, testing and travelers related to LRUs, components, parts and tools. Minimum 2 years of experience preferred. Technical school courses in mechanic or machinist classes preferred. FAA Airframe and/or Powerplant license or equivalent certification preferred. Must be able to pass a respirator fit test and wear a respirator while in our blast room. Basic knowledge of mechanical and metal work required. Computer skills in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and Quantum preferred. Read and adhere to verbal and written instructions. Make basic decisions and work with deadlines while understanding pressure. Work with people and communicate (both oral and written communication) with other personnel and management effectively. Repair Station Manual (RSM), Quality Control Manual (QCM), Airworthiness Agreements), etc. • Participate in aircraft investigations to help find root causes and develop corrective actions. • Must be able and qualified to perform all duties of an Inspector. Technical school courses in auto or diesel mechanics or machinist classes preferred. FAA Airframe and/or Power Plant license or equivalent certification not required. Basic knowledge of mechanical and metal work required. Minimum 2 years of experience preferred. High level of integrity, confidentiality and discretion. Computer skills in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and Quantum preferred. Read and adhere to verbal and written instructions. Make complex decisions and work with deadlines while understanding pressure. Work with people and communicate (both oral and written communication) with other personnel and management effectively. Eng removal/install, FLT control removal/install, acft jacking/down-jacking, ACFT weigh jobs, ACFT movement, etc.) • Provide development of assigned technicians by providing OJT or mentoring as necessary for High school education or equivalent • 2 years experience performing as an accomplished aircraft mechanic on heavy commercial aircraft, or 1 year previously demonstrated ability within HAECO. What you need: (Requirements) • Capable of interpreting drawings and blueprints to accomplish a specific task • FAA Airframe and Powerplant certificate required for A&P Lead Mechanics. Airframe certificate or Repairman’s certificate is required for remaining skills. • Must have good general knowledge of flight controls, rigging, aircraft systems, landing gear, engines, and hydraulics • Must understand and follow maintenance manuals and IPC • Read, write and understand the English language • Must have own tools as required by Company tool list • Must be able to lift 50 lbs. • Must be able to wear and breathe through a full-face respirator. • May be exposed to hazardous chemicals and requires the use of all safety equipment. • Must be able to bend, stoop, kneel and stand for prolonged periods of time, climb ladders and stands. • Visual Acuity must be a minimum of 20/40 corrected and must be able to distinguish color. • Normal or corrected hearing. • Must be able to access all areas of the aircraft.
