This role involves operating fuel dispensing equipment, performing routine maintenance, and ensuring compliance with all safety and regulatory standards. The Refueling Technician supports the logistics and operations of the emergency fueling team to ensure timely and effective fuel distribution in disaster-affected areas. These are seasonal positions and, if activated, will likely require travel on short notice, generally lasting from several days to a few weeks and possibly 30 days or more, depending on the disaster response needs. Ideal candidates for these missions will be available to deploy within 24 to 72 hours of notification. Location: Disaster Response Locations in Alabama Duties and Responsibilities: Operate fuel dispensing equipment to refuel vehicles, generators, and other equipment in disaster-affected areas. Assist with safely dispensing fuel from tanker trucks into emergency utility vehicles and generators. Ensure accurate measurement and recording of dispensed fuel. Follow proper procedures for fuel handling and dispensing to prevent spills and accidents. Perform routine inspections and maintenance on fuel dispensing equipment to ensure operational readiness. Identify and troubleshoot any mechanical issues and coordinate repairs, as necessary. Ensure all equipment is maintained in compliance with safety and regulatory standards. Overview: The Aircraft Mechanic I/Crewmember coordinates with other crewmembers on the assessment of each aircraft part. They will then plan on performing servicing duties to each aircraft. Crewmembers should meet AR 95-20 qualifications and participate in Hazardous Flight duties. Read and interpret original equipment manufacturer and program maintenance manuals, service bulletins, and other related documentation to determine feasibility and method of altering or repairing the aircraft and its associated components. Determine the airworthiness of the aircraft and its associated components. Troubleshoot, repair, and replace electrical wiring and associated components. Perform progressive phase, periodic and other calendar/hourly inspections. Perform miscellaneous duties to service aircraft, including hydraulic system servicing, engine oil replenishment, aircraft systems lubrication, aircraft fueling, etc. Interacts with Company Production Control, the Customer and manufacturer in matters that concern the airworthiness of the aircraft, operational readiness of the aircraft and issues related to the troubleshooting of the aircraft system. Knowledge of U.S. Army Maintenance Documentation System, i.e.,738-751 DoS Pam Gen 1, 328-23. Required to complete maintenance documentation in compliance with all applicable program procedures. Required to make entries electronically through the program MIS. #LI-MZ1 Qualifications Required High School diploma or GED. Federal Aviation Administration issue Mechanic certificate with both Airframe and Powerplant ratings or acceptable Host Nation equivalency. Ability to communicate effectively with team members and various levels of leadership in both written and oral form. Ability to read and comprehend maintenance manuals and technical data in English. CMF 15 aviation MOS series or another military or commercial equivalent to the DHC-8. Minimum of eight (8) years prior experience maintaining specific assigned aircraft. 8 years direct experience in aircraft maintenance, civilian or military. Must have exercised the privilege of their Airframe and Powerplant License for a minimum of 6 months of the previous 24 months.
